Tasks

-Attend mediations, trials, and key project or client meetings as a representative of TSIB. -Maintain organized and complete claim records within the Claims Management System, following internal and client SOPs. -Contribute to continuous improvement of claims procedures, documentation standards, and risk mitigation strategies. -Coordinate investigations with Operations, Safety, and Legal teams; assign and direct third-party investigators as needed. -Support the professional growth of team members through training on claim trends, Labor Law developments, and litigation strategy. -Partner with the Regional Director to select and manage defense and coverage counsel, experts and litigation-related vendors. -Advocate with insurance carriers to achieve fair reserving, responsive coverage decisions, and proactive settlement strategies. -Participate in client and internal meetings, including Safety, Operations, Environmental, and Legal forums. -Direct insurers and TPAs to ensure active engagement, timely assignment, and effective claims handling. Review and analyze legal strategy, expert findings, and settlement evaluations; participate in mediation, arbitration, and trial planning. -Lead claim strategy for high-severity injury, property damage, and catastrophic loss cases, collaborating with defense and coverage counsel. -Serve as a primary claims contact for Turner Construction’s regional leadership, project executives, and Risk Management team. -Evaluate loss trends, reserves, and exposure data to identify cost drivers and recommend process or coverage improvements. -Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to Claims Analysts and Coordinators within the region. -Ensure claims are promptly and accurately reported to applicable carriers, with complete and compliant documentation, statements, and notices. -Manage and oversee all claim activity within assigned region, including general liability, New York Labor Law and builder’s risk claims. -Formulate and execute claim resolution strategies that balance financial, operational, and reputational objectives.

What You Bring

-Strong understanding of contractual risk transfer, insurance coverage, and litigation management. -Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple complex matters simultaneously. -Proven negotiation, influencing, and analytical skills with sound judgment and decision-making. -Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface across organizational levels. -OSHA knowledge and experience; OSHA 30-hour certification a plus. -Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field; or equivalent education and experience. -Experience managing high-severity claims for large general contractors or owners preferred. -Limited travel required (air, train, or vehicle) for mediations, trials, and site visits. -Minimum 5+ years of construction claims experience, including direct handling of New York Labor Law and complex general liability claims. -Juris Doctor (J.D.) or prior legal experience is not required but is considered a strong plus, particularly experience with construction litigation or coverage matters. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management systems.
