The Role

Overview

Design and lead industrial piping/equipment projects, handling analysis, specs, and project coordination.

Tasks

-Prepares and manages scope, budget and schedule for projects or assignments; this includes any discipline internal or external resources assigned to support their projects are within scope, budget and schedule. Assists with developing proposals and hours estimates to provide professional services or engineering support. -Independently evaluates, selects and adapts standard techniques, procedures and criteria. -Receives general direction on key objectives. -Receives guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria. -Checks entire job for constructability, interferences, operational safety, constructability and overall quality assurance. -Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work. -Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner, including PM, client, customers, officials, contractors and others. -Coordinates tasks with engineers, designers and administrative staff. -Creates or modifies equipment specifications, communicate with equipment suppliers, and technically evaluate critical pieces and packages of industrial equipment. -Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner. -Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” -Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments -Designs a complete project or system and prepares complete project documents.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of basic process design and stress analyses including mechanical designs of supports, guides, anchors, hangers strongly preferred. -Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under time sensitive deadlines. -Communicates a strong sense of urgency about solving problems and getting work done. -Strong skill set in understanding PFD’s and P&ID’s; understanding of industrial equipment and equipment packages, and knowledge of selection of valves and other piping specialty components is required. -Works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects. -6+ years related engineering experience with industrial equipment and industrial piping systems. -Applies broad knowledge of industrial piping design principles and practices. -Knowledge of PHMSA standards, recommended practices and design experience in NFPA 59A, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and ASME Section VIII is strongly preferred. -Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). -Acquires general knowledge of principles, and practices of related fields, and ability to function on multidisciplinary teams. -Exhibits excellent listening, oral and written skills; ability to prepare and make project related presentations to clients is desirable. -BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. -Experience using standard computer programs for design such as CAESAR II, AutoPipe, AutoCAD, , etc., is preferred. -Demonstratives a proactive approach and consistently positive demeanor. -Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, documentation, practices, vendor data approvals, etc., strongly preferred.
