Tasks

-Prepare detailed and accurate reports of findings and communicate results to project managers and clients. -Review of blueprints in preparation of field observations on construction sites. -Field testing and inspections of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications. -Travel to job sites across the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area. -Communication of field testing results with Construction Services staff, general contractors, and clients.

NOVA Engineering is seeking a full-time CMT Engineering Technician for our Construction Materials Testing department in the Fort Lauderdale, FL metropolitan statistical area (MSA). -Certifications from the following entities are highly desirable: American Concrete Institute (ACI), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), International Code Council (ICC), NICET, or Post-tensioning Institute (PTI) -2+ years of experience in the Construction Materials Testing industry -Ability to work and maneuver equipment (such as a loaded wheelbarrow) on uneven ground and around active construction sites -ACI Concrete Field Testing Certification (Level 1) is required -Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. -Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Company will provide Personal Protective Equipment and inclement weather gear, as appropriate) -Willingness to travel out-of-town (typically overnight) for short duration assignments -Daily use of Metafield for recording of testing results.
