The Role
Overview
Direct and manage the K-12 school bond construction program in Los Angeles.

Tasks
-Evaluate documents and communicate the client’s specific goals and expectations to all project team members. -Regularly assess the status of work, establish, and administer quality assurance and control programs for projects. -Value Engineer the project by identifying opportunities for savings and ensuring material substitutions are equal. -Drive the permitting process by designing team documents to be submitted to various local, state, and federal agencies and ensure the applicable permits are moving through the process efficiently. -Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the project schedule, scope, and cost. -Ensure the project design management continues to follow the client project documents such as budget, scope, schedule, and client's design standards. -Prepare cost and revenue projections. -Organize and maintain framework for project team processes and record keeping of electronic and physical documents. -Coordinate with cost management group as applicable for preparation of cost estimates, cost studies, actual job cost reviews, and budget reconciliation. -Identify and advise owner of any potential obstacles that need special attention during the project; assess options, recommend preferred approach, and implement as required. -Proactively participate in self-development to continually enhance current skills and build new. skills required to excel at current role and prepare for career progression. -Establish, monitor, and control projects with progressive reviews including scope, cost, schedule, and risk. -Provide overall coordination and implement controls to ensure projects are completed on-time and on-budget per the program contract. -Develop and communicate action plans that will lead the project team throughout the project, beginning with the initial Project Management Plan. -Deliver quality work product by role modeling organizational core values. -Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in managing the project effectively in a compressed timeframe. -Identify and assess scope, schedule, and budget changes and make recommendations to bring into compliance with the program goals and objectives. -Communicate with and manage project stakeholders. -Re-evaluate the contract scope of work as the project progresses against the goals, expectations, and the needs of the client, and recommend adjustments as necessary. -Build relationships with peers, leaders, and clients. -Prepare Project Management plan and fee budget/proposal at the project outset.

What You Bring
-BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field required. -Utilize effective written and oral communication skills. -Preferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED -Experience providing coordination and implementation of controls to ensure on-time and on-budget metrics are met. -Prior experience with educational facility construction projects/programs is required. -Minimum of 15 years' experience in project management, with a focus on education projects as an Owners Representative or in a consultancy capacity. Prior program management experience highly preferred. -Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS). -Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes or similar. -Consistently communicates and collaborates with team members and clients. -Demonstrate ability to be dependable, diligent, and thorough. -Experience reviewing scope, cost, schedule and risk. -Ability to identify potential obstacles and provide options and plans to mitigate.
