Overview
Perform field surveys, laser scans, and drafting for industrial facility design.

Tasks
-Adhering to existing standards of practice for surveying. -Completing project safely and within required accuracy and timeframe. -Preparing sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys under the direction of a licensed professional land surveyor. -Supervise and assist Survey Technicians in processing field data, preparing 3-D models, preparing surveys/plats, and making revisions as required. -Searching legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed. -Coordinating findings with the work of engineering teammates, clients, and others involved in projects. -Establishing construction control points for use in the installation of equipment and materials. -Verifying the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites. -Coordinate with applicable government agencies and attend meetings as appropriate to assure that client projects comply with agency regulations. -Calculating heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain and industrial facilities. -Coordinating with survey team and design team to ensure survey scope is clear and deliverable expectations are met. -Provide input on the technical approach to project tasks and the intermediate & finished work product to ensure that they meet objectives. -Conducting surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles. -Assist in developing a plan of action for assigned projects. -Recording the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.

What You Bring
-Familiarity with Cyclone laser scanning software or equivalent a plus. -Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. -Ability to work independently as part of a larger survey/scan team. -Familiarity in the use of field instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and laser scanners. -Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates, which may involve walking through difficult terrain. -Familiarity with standards and codes. -Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Carlson Software or equivalent. -Good communication skills, both verbal and written. -Ability to drive – possesses a valid driver’s license. -Ability to use the entire body, more often hands and arms, in handling, positioning, and moving equipment. -Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs. -Comfortable working at heights off scaffold, platforms or manlifts.
