The Role

Overview

Assist with welding, read blueprints, perform MIG welding, and maintain safety.

Tasks

-Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools -Inspect assembly/components for conformance of specifications -Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices -Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment -Use basic hand tools such as tape measurer and specialty equipment -Perform Mig welding by using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment -Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material applying knowledge of shop math and layout techniques

What You Bring

-Preferred Jefferson State or Wallace community college student -Practice reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols to determine sequence and methods of assembling components
