Project Engineer - Stream Restoration

Mcadams

The Role

Overview

Design and manage stream restoration projects using CAD, GIS, and field work

Key Responsibilities

  • earthwork calculations
  • rivermorph modeling
  • hydrologic analysis
  • civil 3d
  • gis management
  • plan production

Tasks

-Produce earthwork calculations and adjust grading as necessary to meet project goals efficiently and with minimal revisions required. -Use Rivermorph software or equivalent design spreadsheets to develop dimensionless design parameters efficiently; -Produce hydrologic calculations using SCS Curve Number Method or other relevant methodologies for use in design and analysis of water resource projects -Independently layout Erosion Control measures and develop plans per local and State standards efficiently and with minimal revisions required. -Produce detail sheets and project notes per Local/State/Federal Standards efficiently and with minimal revisions required. -Set up and manage AutoCAD and GIS basefiles with accurate representation and organization of existing and proposed data. -Develop Civil 3D alignments, profiles, corridors, surfaces and grading tools efficiently and correctly -Produce set of plans including all necessary notes and construction sequences per company and local standards, and general understanding of project specifications efficiently and with minimal revisions required. -Review work and provide redline plans and design revisions consistent with team quality control expectations. -Produce technical memos and mitigation plans with minimal comments and redlines. -Develop design and layout of stream restoration designs including grade control structures, bank protection measures, planting zones, etc. efficiently. -Identify potential utility conflicts and impacts to proposed design and adjust design appropriately -Use ArcGISPro for exhibit development; geoprocessing various datasets; transfer shapefile data accurately both internally and externally -Produce plan sets (in AutoCAD) per jurisdiction and project purpose using Sheet Set Manager efficiently and with minimal revisions required.
