Tasks
-Collaborates with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients. -Analyze, evaluate, and interpret geologic, hydrogeologic, and chemical data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level threat mitigation activities. -Prepare more complex data and visualizations such as mineral charts, soil analyses, groundwater modeling, maps geologic cross-sections, and other illustrations. -Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC. -Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams in executing project work. -Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. -Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to prevent, control, remedy, or clean-up chemical and environmental problems and contamination. -Lead site investigation, subsurface boring and trenching oversight, and monitoring of groundwater and extraction well installations. -Conduct environmental site assessments (Phase I and II). -Develop action plans for mid to larger-scale pollution, corrosion, hazardous waste, and environmental control project and programs. -Ensure regulatory requirement compliance pertaining to the data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention. -Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). -Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner. -Provide guidance with data collection efforts for extracting, identifying, and compiling environmental data from soil sampling, soil gas sampling, groundwater sampling, stormwater sampling, boring logs, and other matrices for projects, investigations, and surveys.

What You Bring
-Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. -Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline. -Experience with evaluation of vapor intrusion and sampling soil gas per DTSC and EPA guidelines. -Essential professional licensure/certification. -7-10 years of relevant work experience. -Experience with UST investigations and remediation including investigation of hydro-carbon impacted sites. -Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most cost-effective responses that will minimize waste, prevent pollution, and conserve resources. -Master’s Degree is preferred. -Effective at coordinating and assertively directing others in the field such as subcontracted drillers, excavation contractors, utility locators, and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently. -Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. -Experience in conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM guidelines and industry standards. -Proficiency with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products., and mitigation programs. -Experience sampling soil and groundwater via drilling including direct-push, hollow-stem auger, and other similar drilling methods. -Proficient with geological research, investigation, technology, measurement tools, software, and techniques. -Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. -Experience writing groundwater monitoring reports and well installation reports.Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience. -Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. -Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work. -Highly proficient with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools. -40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) -Experience installing groundwater monitoring wells, remediation wells, and soil gas wells.
