Casual Catering Assistant

Overview

Assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals at Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre.

Tasks

-Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated following safe work procedures, maintained in a clean and safe condition. -Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitoring food safety standards and practices, maintaining hygiene in food preparation areas, and completing all Food Safety Documentation accurately and timely. -Assemble, prepare, and produce food requirements as directed by the Chef Manager/Head Chef. -Cleaning the food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils.

What You Bring

-Strong written and verbal communication abilities -Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills -Food Safety Certificates -Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment -Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines -Has a Certificate II Kitchen Operations or willing to undertake this course -Bulk cooking experience similar to aged care or resources backgrounds
