Tasks

We are looking for a Housing Officer for an 8 month FTC to deliver the anti-social behaviour (ASB) and domestic abuse services and act as a subject matter expert regarding tenancy enforcement and safeguarding concerns. Work collaboratively with the wider Neighbourhood Team and Customer Resolution Centre. Maintain strong relationships with key partners internally and externally in line with CHP’s corporate objectives. -Assist in the prompt and efficient letting of properties by delivering pre-termination inspections, property viewings and tenancy sign-ups as required and within agreed timescales. -Identify and report safeguarding matters, taking appropriate action in line with CHP’s Protecting People from Harm (Safeguarding) policy. -Adopt a multi-agency service delivery approach, where required, to enhance the community or improve the lives of individuals. Work with partner agencies, such as police, councillors, local authorities, children services, education, faith denominations, family welfare, primary health care and voluntary groups to ensure positive outcomes are delivered. -Provide a tenancy administration service, working alongside the Assistant Housing Officers, to ensure the prompt and efficient resolution of customer requests for permissions, tenancy assignments, tenancy successions, and joint tenancy requests. -Use all suitable remedies to resolve tenancy breaches including the issuing of tenancy warnings and notices. The role may require the preparation of court paperwork and representing CHP in court action against customers.

What You Bring

-Excellent communication and interpersonal competencies. -Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. -Proficient IT skills, including Excel, office systems and CRM databases. -Strong planning and organisational capabilities with a methodical and precise approach to work as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. -Proven abilities in delivering housing or estate management services, such as: responding to ASB, domestic abuse, and safeguarding concerns, providing housing-related support, managing communal spaces and estates, completing tenancy administration tasks, or letting properties.
