Tasks
In the role of the Lead BESS Engineer, you will play a key role establishing engineering operational processes within the BESS project delivery organization. Besides leading the process definitions, you will be at the centre of ensuring that the projects is commissioned and operates as per project contractual specifications. -Understand grid compliance testing requirements/protocols and work closely with PPC/SCADA supplier on control parameterizations and executing the required tests -Act as L3 support for O&M team during project lifetime by analysing and diagnosing system failures. -Take ownership to feedback product and system integration issues to global product solutions team to develop and improve future products and roadmap -Validate tests results and ensuring that the project operates safely to contractual requirements -Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement corrective actions, system updates, or design changes aimed at improving reliability, safety, and performance of the BESS units. -Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for the design and integration of control systems, ensuring clear communication and alignment -Collaborate with HQ LMT team to lead root cause investigations of technical issues. -Review and approve engineering deliverables pertaining to control system (wiring diagrams, I/O lists, control logics, IP mapping, network routing, etc.) -Support country level project teams on project commissioning, SAT and grid compliance (lead in new markets) -Work closely with global product solutions teams to prepare project specific integration test plans and ensure that tests and reviewed and validated in time

What You Bring
-Experience working with FATs, SIT/SAT, alarm management, and integrated controls -Capability to understand and translate grid compliance requirements (eg. G99/G100 in the UK) -Understand developments / market requirements in the industry (eg. Updates to NFPA FSS, PCS GFM requirements, BESS trading strategies, cybersecurity updates) -Strong coordination, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills -Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related discipline -5+ years of experience working on utility-scale BESS projects. Experience in product development is a plus -In-depth knowledge of battery technologies (LFP), PCS functionality, system integration, BESS control philosophies, protection coordination and communication interfaces -Extensive experience in issue diagnostics and troubleshooting during project O&M phase -Understanding of PCS parametrization and operations under fault contributions, inertia and reactive power flow behaviour under dynamic grid conditions
