The Role
Overview
Ensures safety compliance on electric construction sites, coordinating plans and training.

Tasks
-Conduct accident/injury investigations including root cause analyses -Perform ongoing site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions to ensure a safety focus throughout all phases of electric construction projects -Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards. -Coach and mentor project site personnel regarding safety practices and behaviors on an ongoing basis -Coordinate with Operations teams to create site-specific safety plans; actively participate in safety meetings to review job hazard analysis and hazard recognition tools -Follow-up with Operations organization to ensure completion of corrective actions for all accidents and incidents -Partner with Safety, Safety Training & Operations teams to schedule or facilitate required employee trainings: New hire orientation, OSHA ETD Quarterly refresher training, Customer required training, Post-incident training as part of a Corrective Action Plan, and Participate in site-specific safety planning. -Support company safety committees by assisting in assessment of safety performance trends, implementing process, and tool improvements -Supporting client-specific safety requirements programs and ensure alignment and compliance between client expectations, company rules, and applicable safety regulations -Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to environmental protection or occupational health and safety -Participate in project kick off and progress meetings -Provide support to Operations organization for incident case management and documentation steps -Conduct proactive behavior-based and quality-focused field safety observations and PPE hazard assessments

What You Bring
-Basic understanding of electric construction project management practices and procedures -Minimum of one (1) safety certification is preferred, examples include: Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) -Problem-solving and situation analysis skills -Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles is required -High school diploma or GED equivalent is required -Undergraduate degree in in Occupational Safety & Health Management, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene or related technical field preferred; combination of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degree -High school diploma or GED equivalent - required -Organizational skills -Attentiveness to details -Proficiency with MS Office Suite programs, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint -Must be a team player able to work with co-workers, different departments and outside contacts and maintain strong relationships -Ability to work independently -Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles - required -Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other industry-related safety regulations -Ability to travel for job site visits for extended periods of time -Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred; combination of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degree -Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence behavior -Regular and predictable attendance
