Tasks

The Infrastructure Engineer (Systems) plays a key role in architecting, deploying, and operating mission-critical systems within a highly secured and regulated. As a subject-matter expert in infrastructure technologies, the individual will design and deliver end-to-end secure infrastructure solutions with a focus on reliability, compliance, and resilience. -Design and implement on-premise compute, storage, and network architectures supporting secure enterprise systems. -Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for provisioning, configuration, and compliance enforcement. -Implement CIS benchmarks and hardening standards for servers, clusters, and hypervisors. -Provide technical expertise in systems architecture, evaluation, and deployment of infrastructure components including messaging, collaboration, virtualization, security, and remote access technologies. -Define standards for Red Hat, Windows Server, VMware, and Kubernetes deployments. -Apply policy-as-code frameworks (OPA, Kyverno, or Ansible Lint) to enforce configuration and security standards. -Implement and maintain Veritas backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies. -Automate VMware, Kubernetes, and backup operations through integrated CI/CD pipelines. -Configure and manage SAN storage, including LUN provisioning, multipathing, and storage zoning. -Lead technology evaluations and proof-of-concepts to assess new systems or tools for use in secured environments. -Lead system integration to ensure efficient, robust, and compliant infrastructure design that meets stringent availability and reliability objectives. -Conduct system migration, upgrades, and patch automation with minimal disruption. -Configure, administer, and support SIEM platforms such as HP ArcSight, LogRhythm, or Splunk; ensure accurate capture and analysis of system and security event logs. -Deploy and operate Kubernetes clusters (RKE2, OpenShift, or equivalent).

What You Bring

The role requires a deep technical foundation across hardware, operating systems, virtualization, monitoring, backup, and log management systems, coupled with the ability to work independently under strict security and regulatory requirements. The Infrastructure Engineer (Systems) applies strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and disciplined execution to deliver secure, high-impact infrastructure solutions from design through operations. -Experience managing enterprise backup solutions such as Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, or Networker, including troubleshooting backup/recovery disruptions. -Additional certifications such as RHCE, VCP, Veritas Certified Specialist, or Microsoft Server Administrator are advantageous. -Strong, hands-on foundation in data centre systems, server virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, system monitoring, backup, and SIEM solutions. -Expertise in Windows and Linux server installation, configuration, and administration, including patching, security configuration, and performance tuning. -Familiar with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for secure application hosting, deployment, and testing. -Demonstrated experience in high-availability (HA) and clustered environments, including virtualization and hyperconverged setups (e.g., VMware vSphere, Nutanix Infrastructure). -Minimum 5 years of experience designing, deploying, and managing complex, secured IT infrastructure systems. -Familiar with policy-as-code, compliance automation, and disaster recovery architecture in regulated environments. -Skilled in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Shell, or Bash for system deployment and configuration. -Proven experience managing enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Microsoft SCOM, CA, Riverbed), including capacity tuning and threshold optimization. -Certified in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Nutanix (NCP), or equivalent virtualization technologies. -Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
