Design engineer for heavy‑duty gas turbine exhaust systems
-Interact and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies, gas turbine & systems engineering. -Deliver on requisition of new unit projects, NPI deliverables & other key activities related to exhaust systems of HDGT. -Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications. -Develop innovative ways to simplify design & processes & develop cost-effective products & drive positive project margins. -Generate design calculations documentation including equipment arrangement drawings and layouts, piping and instrumentation diagrams and datasheets.
-Ability to effectively present information to project and functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. -Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience -Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. -Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university or college -Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines. -Use & develop expertise in mechanical design and aero-thermal design and proficiency in using tools like, ANSYS- Structural, STAAD and Fluent to develop and validate the designs -Document design work clearly and meticulously. -Strong oral and written communication skills. -Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. -Familiarity with AVEVA Engineering or similar design tools is an advantage. -Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. -Previous exposure to gas turbine systems, exhaust technologies, or emissions control preferred.
