The Role

Overview

Design and oversee electrical systems for offsite modular building components.

Tasks

-Engage in client-facing and cross-functional discussions to coordinate electrical designs, propose solutions to mitigate risks and finalize electrical designs. -Support research and development efforts focused on developing and enhancing OSM products and solutions. -Stay current on innovations in electrical engineering and OSM construction techniques. -Collaborate with Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, and other construction disciplines to seamlessly integrate OSM Medium/Low Voltage (MV/LV) electrical systems into design documents. -Exercise independent judgment in engineering decisions to develop designs and in review and approval of engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents and confirm coordination of vendor drawings to engineering requirements. -Prepare technical studies, specifications, cost estimates, and proposal evaluations. -Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and maintain active accreditation as required -Assess materials and construction methods for optimal performance and cost efficiency. -Develop electrical designs for xPL Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) products and systems, including single line development, equipment and component selections, submittal development, and system optimization. -Create detailed electrical drawings using mechanical design, product development, and/or Building Information Modeling applications. -Conduct manufacturing shop floor and field visits to verify constructability and alignment with operational needs. -Partner with xPL OSM manufacturing team to oversee designs that optimize production, assembly, transportation, and site installation.

What You Bring

-Proficient design tools (e.g., Revit, Inventor, or similar) -Able to exercise independent judgment in engineering decisions and project execution -Capable of producing and managing engineering drawings both independently and through coordination with design teams -Strong verbal communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally and client facing with ability to clearly present information to non-technical audiences -Proficient technical writing and documentation skills -Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple stakeholder requirements -Display proactive and solution-oriented mindset -Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work -Management of competing demands and able to meet established deadlines -Familiar with building and electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC) -Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications, with intermediate Excel skills -Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, or related field, with minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design or related role, or equivalent education, training, and experience -Limited Travel Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
