The Role

Overview

Clean and maintain vehicles/equipment, assist with minor repairs and inspections.

Tasks

-May assist with minor mechanical adjustments and repairs. -Perform routine inspections of shop, vehicles, equipment, and tools. -May assist with servicing vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to fueling, oil and filter changes, maintaining antifreeze and coolant levels, and similar servicing procedures. -May operate equipment including but not limited to skid steers, forklifts, and light vehicles. -Complete and maintain accurate records as required. -Lifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more. -Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment. -Thoroughly cleans exterior and interior of vehicles and equipment. -Cleans vehicle and equipment upholstery and other surfaces by operating a variety of cleaning tools including hoses, vacuums, pressure washers and other equipment. Maintains shop in an orderly condition and free of hazards.

-Ability and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct daily. -Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours). -Ability to squat, crawl, and work in awkward positions/confined spaces. -Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions. -Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment. -Ability to work in safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment. -Related work experience preferred. -Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with ability to: grasp, assemble, and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lie down. -Ability to wear a full body harness and work at heights while tied off. -High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
