Steel Project Manger

Overview

Manage planning, execution, and delivery of steel fabrication and erection projects.

Tasks

-Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, and general contractors. -Identify and mitigate project risks and delays. -Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates. -Conduct regular site visits and meetings with clients and field teams. -Ensure compliance with company quality standards, project specifications, and industry codes (AISC, AWS, OSHA, etc.). -Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for steel fabrication and erection projects. -Resolve technical and contractual issues promptly and professionally. -Identify scope changes and manage change orders effectively. -Coordinate with engineers, estimators, drafters, fabricators, and field teams to ensure seamless project execution. -Monitor project progress and performance using project management tools and reports. -Manage procurement of materials, subcontractor coordination, and logistics. -Prepare cost forecasts and financial reports for management and stakeholders. -Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures on job sites. -Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contracts. -Track project costs, invoices, and budgets; ensure profitability. -Oversee fabrication and erection activities to ensure adherence to design, schedule, and safety requirements.

What You Bring

-Strong understanding of AISC and AWS standards. -Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam). -Requires travel to project sites and client meetings as needed. -Certifications (Preferred): PMP, OSHA 30, or equivalent construction management credentials. -Proficiency with steel detailing drawings, fabrication processes, and erection methods. -Combination of office and field work (fabrication shop visits and job site inspections). -Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities; detail-oriented; problem-solving mindset. -Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in structural or miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection. -Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
