Overview

Lay underground utility pipes, cut, position, seal joints, and backfill.

Tasks

-Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue -Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers -Cut pipes to required lengths -Adheres to all DCS Contracting safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management -Meet production goals from the direction of the site Foreman or Superintendent -Install or repair sanitary or stormwater sewer structures or pipe systems -Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing -Cover pipes with earth or other materials

-Must be a team player and be willing to help out wherever is needed for the success of the project -Must have reliable transportation to and from work shift -Knowledgeable in Blue Stake markings -Must be able to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks -Ongoing Safety and Construction Training -Ability to get the job done with minimal supervision -Able to work outside in all weather conditions -MUST be reliable and dependable -Reliable transportation and work schedule flexibility -1+ year of construction pipe laying or laborer experience required -General knowledgeable of OSHA standards and requirements -Willingness to learn and accept direction from field supervision -Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations
