Powder Coater

Description

• Follow production schedules and meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
• Prepare metal surfaces by sanding, grinding, masking, and cleaning parts to ensure proper adhesion.
• Monitor curing times and oven temperatures to meet quality and safety standards.
• Set up, operate, and maintain powder-coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and ovens.
• Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report maintenance needs as required.
• Perform colour changes and maintain accurate documentation of materials used.
• Apply powder coatings evenly and according to specifications, ensuring consistent thickness and coverage.
• Inspect finished products for defects such as runs, thin coverage, contamination, or improper curing.

Requirements

• Familiarity with electrostatic equipment and curing ovens.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices (PPE, ventilation, material handling).
• Ability to lift and move parts.
• Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to read job orders, specifications, and technical instructions.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Exposure to heat, powder materials, and industrial equipment (proper PPE provided).
• Previous experience in powder coating, painting, or industrial finishing preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
