Overview

Perform startup, testing, and commissioning of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems.

Tasks

-Implementation of Acco policies and procedures -Attend job site meeting and provide input to GC, PM and GF -The employee is regularly required to use construction equipment. -The employee is regularly required to use a ladder. -Implementation of Safety Department’s protocols -Confirm company QA/QC protocols are met -Startup and mechanical functional testing of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing equipment. -Complete Startup and commissioning documentation. -Mechanical system commissioning and testing. -Coordinate and communicate effectively with different departments within ACCO -Support Area Supervisor with assessing project schedules and manpower requirements -While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. -Ensure projects are completed on schedule -Mentor and train journeypersons and apprentices -Read and interpret Mechanical and plumbing prints, specifications and other construction contract documents -Plumbing system commissioning and testing. -The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -Maintain proper documentation of daily activities using project specific reporting procedures

Effectively assesses, defines and communicates issues in a timely manner, both written and verbal. -High school diploma, Certificate of G.E.D, or certificate of completion in an apprenticeship program in HVAC & refrigeration or similar trade or technical program completion. -Valid (non-commercial) driver's license with MVR that meets ACCO's risk insurance standards. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision. -Professionalism Respectfully observes and challenges the status quo with the intent for improvement. Leads by example through positive influence and ethical leadership with consideration of the entire organization. -Good written and oral communication skills. -The auditory/hearing abilities required by the job include the ability to hear customers calling by telephone. -Planning Demonstrates an understanding of all steps necessary to achieve an objective, effectively plans the approach, and properly communicates the plan. -Three or more years as a commercial Journeyperson HVAC Technician or equivalent. -Willingness and ability to attend ACCO and Union training sessions (signatory sponsorship will be provided to non-signatory applicants hired for the position). -Decision Making Considers all relevant information and potential outcomes before making sound and timely decisions. Willing and able to make difficult, unbiased decisions under pressure and communicate decisions to those affected. Identifies and resolves the root cause of issues. -Ability to utilize a personal computer. -This individual must be a responsible person and regular attendance is required. -The employee is regularly required to walk and sit. -Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other technicians/team members -Strategic Thinking Demonstrates the ability to see the big picture, effectively assesses all aspects of an issue and anticipates several steps ahead. Interprets meaning effectively and applies information appropriately.
