Tasks

-Serve as a link between patients and the research team, addressing challenges with protocol completion. -Maintain research records for screened and enrolled patients. -Collaborate with the Protocol Activation office to initiate and activate clinical trial protocols using the study start-up task list. -Register consented research patients with study sponsors and enter data into the clinical trials database. -Translate protocol treatment plans into sample orders. -Grade adverse events and document toxicities according to protocol guidelines. -Assist with bio-specimen collection and processing, monitoring visits, audits, and database queries. -Prepare and review study tools such as study binders, medication diaries, eligibility checklists, and flow sheets. -Provide training and orientation to other faculty and staff. -Complete Serious/Unexpected Adverse Event (SAE) forms and collaborate on overall protocol compliance. -Manage patient reimbursement while on clinical trials and deliver high-quality oncology nursing care. -Ensure the informed consent process is completed and documented according to IRB, GCP, and institutional policies. -Ensure adherence to all regulations and guidelines throughout the research project. -Provide nursing education to other disciplines to ensure the safe and effective care of enrolled patients. -Review patient charts and medical history to confirm protocol eligibility. -Ensure protocol-specific orders are executed accurately, coordinating continuity of care between disciplines and sites. -Collaborate with the clinical research team to prescreen potential subjects and active cancer patients for clinical trials. -Verify Scientific Review Board (SRB), Institutional Review Board (IRB), data collection plans, and finance/contract approvals before study activation. -Review protocols, collect feedback, and resolve obstacles in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI).

What You Bring

-Experience with clinical research coordination, patient recruitment, and enrollment. -Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. -One year of oncology experience required. -Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN) preferred. -Ability to maximize resources and be resourceful. -Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. -Maintains active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. -Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) preferred. -Proficient in computer applications (the person™, Word, Excel, etc.). -Understanding of FDA, IRB, and GCP regulations. -Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey. -Three to five years of oncology research experience preferred. -Experience in teaching and training clinical staff. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
