Land Acquisition Manager

Overview

Identify and acquire land parcels, negotiate deals, and lead acquisition initiatives.

Tasks

-Lead kick-off and rollout meetings for new land deals. -Strengthen collaboration with Land Development, Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Construction, Customer Service, Mortgage, and Finance teams. -Direct support staff in preparing reports, analyses, and feasibility packages. -Compile, analyze, and present data for Land Committee feasibility packages. -Create proformas for land deals that align with company thresholds. -Build relationships with developers, brokers, municipalities, attorneys, engineers, planners, and competitors to secure land opportunities. -Monitor land acquisition and development activity in your designated area. -Negotiate land purchase agreements with input from senior leaders. -Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/Land/Sales). -Identify potential land through mapping, virtual and physical prospecting, networking, and targeted mailings. -Participate in Land Committee discussions and oversee data collection on HOA/District obligations, taxes, cost-sharing, permits, and guidelines. -Audit KB Home’s proprietary database for accuracy and current information.

What You Bring

-Valid driver's license with ability to travel throughout the designated area and host land tours. -Preferred prior management experience. -Proven training and presentation capabilities. -Strong understanding of market and industry trends. -The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. -A customer-centric approach with problem-solving focus. -Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. -Ability to walk up and down stairs. -Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information so others will understand. -Full-time position requiring attendance at networking events outside typical business hours and regular fieldwork. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clarify complex concepts. -Strong decision-making based on facts, data, or metrics. -Ability to transport and move up to 20 lbs and move as needed (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/IT/Land/Marketing/Sales/Studio). -Ability to connect with people and maintain solid professional relationships. -Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. -Minimum 3 years of land acquisition, contract negotiation, and relationship-building experience. -Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team motivation, employee development, and results. -Ability to move about work location.
