Overview

Design & manage cloud data platforms, pipelines, and security for Auckland Council.

Tasks

-Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, Scientists, and Technology Services teams to deliver fit-for-purpose, connected data solutions. -Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performing data pipelines that enable seamless data flow and integration. -Use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices (e.g. Terraform) to manage and automate deployment of cloud resources. -Support building the future of Data at Scale -Manage and enhance modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Azure) to ensure reliability, availability, and performance. -Implement robust data security practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with governance standards. -Develop and optimise cloud-based data storage solutions, including data lakes, warehouses, and databases.

What You Bring

-Public sector experience is advantageous but not required. -Cloud certification (Azure, AWS, or GCP) preferred but not essential. -Proven ability to collaborate across functions and deliver outcomes that enhance organisational efficiency and customer value. -7+ years’ experience in Data and Analytics roles within complex, data-mature organisations. -A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. -Strong understanding of data warehousing, BI architecture, and ETL processes, with experience delivering end-to-end data solutions.
