The Role

Overview

Lead bridge and structural design projects for MSG, focusing on Michigan/Ohio transportation.

Tasks

-Prepare bridge layouts, material quantity calculations, and construction specifications for new and rehabilitated structures. -Mentor and support other engineers while continuing to grow your leadership and technical expertise. -Contribute to the full project lifecycle, from concept through construction, across a variety of bridge types and complexities. -Lead and perform bridge and structural design — including layout, analysis, and plan development — in accordance with MDOT and AASHTO standards. -Collaborate closely with roadway, geotechnical, and other engineering teams to deliver coordinated project solutions. -Manage and coordinate projects, communicating effectively with clients, partners, and team members. -Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy and quality deliverables.

What You Bring

-8+ years of experience in bridge design and structural engineering -Experience with AASHTOWare BrR, Merlin Dash, MathCAD, or equivalent load rating and design software preferred -Software experience: MicroStation and OpenRoads required; Civil 3D a plus -Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license required -Strong communication and teamwork skills — with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively -Experience with MDOT and/or MDOT LAP projects -Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering -Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design standards
