The Role
Overview
Research, develop, and manage new supplement formulations through production.

Tasks
-Maintain competitive knowledge regarding new technologies, ingredients, and product forms. -Ensure adherence to company SOPs and quality control protocols. -Prepare materials and present new launches at sales meetings. -Collaborate with sales to create new formulations for customers and assist in new product development. -Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop product quote processes. -Work with operations teams to troubleshoot technical, formulation, and processing issues. -Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to develop documentation for new projects. -Drive and manage all aspects of product development, integrating consumer insights. -Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. -Participate in public relations, media interviews, trade shows, and similar events with prior management approval. -Source and identify new concepts, ingredients, and product forms. -Troubleshoot and solve issues with tablet and capsule manufacturing processes. -Prioritize and manage multiple customer products. -Research, generate, and direct new product formulations from concept through to manufacture. -Utilize knowledge of production equipment like tablet presses and capsule filling machines to solve product performance issues. -Participate in product and package configuration activities. -Initiate Label Copy for supplement facts and regulatory requirements. -The role involves standing, walking, bending, and stooping for long periods, as well as moving and examining objects at various heights.

What You Bring
-Strong understanding of GMP, quality control, and FDA regulations. -Strong knowledge of ingredient costing and technology. -Strong oral and written communication skills. -Experience in directing production adjustments to formulation and machinery. -The position demands normal visual acuity and involves reading for extended periods. -The work environment requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, or up to 100 pounds with mechanical assistance. -Ability to develop vitamin and supplement products and research ingredients. -A high level of organization and the ability to prioritize effectively are essential, along with demonstrated attention to detail and thoroughness. -Proficiency in integrating from bench to batch production. -Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and SDS sheets. -Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. -Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. -Ability to perform arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. -Strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and decision-making abilities are critical. The work schedule is from 7am to 3pm. -Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Formulator in a manufacturing environment, preferably in dietary supplements or food & beverage industry. -Acute sense of documentation within the manufacturing environment. -Strong working knowledge of basic lab techniques and cGMP standards. -Strong presentation skills to communicate new product ideas persuasively. -Understanding of simple statistical methods. -Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science, Nutrition/Dietetics, or related field. -Ability to solve moderately complex problems with multiple variables. -Experience in improving product flavor and quality consistency. -Proven experience in formulation, chemistry, and laboratory practices.
