Tasks

-Monitor and help improve supplier performance including On time delivery and Cost Reduction. -Perform market analyses and competitive evaluations. -Expedite the procurement of parts or materials in short or critical supply. -Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies. -Coordinate quality matters, engineering and price changes between company components and suppliers. -Develop and implement commodity strategies to establish long-term sourcing. -Negotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering change orders. -Provide direction and training to inventory buyers and planners as needed.

What You Bring

-Has broad expertise including purchasing for lean manufacturing, Kanban and supplier development. May be the in-house expert in specific areas. -Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 5 years related experience. -Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. May require MS Access experience. -Requires knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control. -Must have knowledge of economic principles and financial markets. -Requires excellent negotiation abilities and strong analytical skills. -Shows exceptional verbal and written communication skills including with executives or in international contexts. -Competent in computerized procurement systems.
