Tasks

You will be identifying and mitigating important environmental risks related to the maintenance of the Defence estate and the delivery services. You will also lead initiatives related to net zero strategies, change programs, and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment with strategic goals, helping identify opportunities for savings, and implementing improvements to energy consumption. -Identifying opportunities for savings and implementing improvements to energy consumption in line with contract deliverables. -Identifying and mitigating key environmental risks related to the maintenance of defence estate and delivery of services. -Conducting comprehensive audits of energy, water, and waste management, including feasibility studies, technology/product reviews, and building ratings. -Implementing environmental management practices in accordance with the Environmental Management Plan (EMP). -Aligning practices with the national waste policy and waste minimisation targets. -Overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of energy, water and waste data to optimise performance and provide accurate and actionable insights.

What You Bring

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance. -Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting for environmental performance. -Experience in leading and managing sustainability initiatives and projects. -Professional certification in environmental management or sustainability is highly desirable. -Proven track record in conducting assessments and audits related to energy, water, and waste management. -Experience in implementing and maintaining environmental management systems and familiarity with statutory and The Department of Defence’s energy, water, and waste management requirements. -Proven ability to identify and mitigate environmental risks. -Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
