Overview

Conduct risk-based audits of oil & gas processes, provide recommendations, improve controls.

Tasks

-Provide risk and control advisory services to the business, focusing on enhancing internal controls and improving process efficiency and effectiveness through value-added recommendations -Contribute to audit risk assessments and planning process, along with helping to develop the audit strategy and approach for various assigned audits -Perform detailed analysis of the assigned processes, and identify and understand the business objectives and related risks -Plan and perform business process walk-throughs, develop testing procedures and document your work -Work with management across different business units to plan and coordinate work efforts -Develop your understanding of enterprise risk and various Canadian Natural business functions, including how they are affected by statutory and regulatory requirements

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline, coupled with a Professional Auditing (e.g., CIA), Accounting (e.g., CPA), or a Professional Engineering designation (PEng.) -Willingness to pursue Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) / Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) designation -Ability to adapt to fast-paced changing environment, while effectively managing time, meeting deadlines, and integrating new information -Preference will be given to individuals with 5 - 10 years of internal audit experience in a multi-disciplinary oil and gas company environment, including knowledge and experience of oil and gas field operations, mining operations, corporate (e.g., IT, Finance) and related statutory and regulatory requirements -Strong business acumen and professional judgment, with a knowledge of the Canadian oil and gas industry and internal auditing practices -Enjoys non-routine, project-based work -Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
