Overview
Perform field testing, inspections, sample collection, reporting for construction projects.

Tasks
-Ensure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures. -May be asked to mentor and support junior field technicians, providing guidance on field procedures, testing methods, and safety best practices. -Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained, and functioning correctly, following manufacturer and company guidelines. -Complete detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to project managers and stakeholders. -Travel to job sites within the designated region, which may require overnight stays based on project needs. -Communicate effectively with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors, and project managers, providing real-time updates on job status, site conditions, and any issues encountered. -Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. -Collect, label, and transport material samples to laboratories for analysis, following proper procedures to maintain sample integrity. -Follow all OSHA, company, and client safety protocols, ensuring strict adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, hazard awareness, and field safety guidelines. -Operate and maintain assigned company vehicle, including scheduling routine maintenance and ensuring proper upkeep.

-Moderate to loud noise levels, common in active construction and industrial environments. -Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; ability to safely operate company vehicles. -Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in outdoor environments with varying weather conditions. -Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. -Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for fieldwork and inspections. -Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant, and peripheral vison, depth vision, and ability to focus) smell, hear, touch (use hands to reach climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit). -Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality results. -Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. -Attention to detail to ensure accurate sample collection, testing procedures, and documentation. -3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or a related industry. -High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework in construction, engineering, geology, or a related field preferred. -Frequent use of hands and arms for typing, handling tools, and operating equipment. -Exposure to environmental elements including dirt, dust, sun, heat, humidity, and adverse weather conditions. -Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints, procedures, manuals, technical documents, and reports related to drilling, safety, and project requirements. -Adapt to changing project requirements and schedules, including early morning, weekend, or overnight work as needed. -Flexibility to work variable schedules, including early mornings, weekends, overtime, and potential overnight travel based on project demands. -Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate in noisy environments and with project teams. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar industry tools. -Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing preferred or ability to obtain within a specified time period. -Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods. -Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately. -Ability to lift and/or carry 35 to 75 lbs. up to 75 feet, involving regular repetitive motion.
