Civil Engineer - Roadway Design

Overview

Design and oversee roadway projects, produce drawings/specs, coordinate teams.

Tasks

-Coordinating work with other disciplines. Performs interdisciplinary coordination checks to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions in drawings and specifications. -Production of well-organized, finished drawings of good appearance, accuracy, clarity, and correctness. -Assisting Construction Project Managers, Superintendents, and Subcontractors in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents and response to requests for information. -Directing technical efforts of discipline interns, designers, technicians, and subordinate engineers assigned to the project. -Participating in project strategy meetings within the discipline, develops design concepts and recommends systems, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents, and outlines specifications.

What You Bring

-Experience with roadway/highway design projects for cities, municipalities, and/or state DOTs -Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months -Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering -Working knowledge of Microstation, OpenRoads, and/or InRoads -Experience with geometric design, drainage design, construction sequencing and utility relocation coordination
