Tasks

-Apply first-principles engineering to guide design decisions and trade-offs -Serve as the Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) for plastic components, ensuring compliance with Form Energy’s engineering standards and quality requirements -Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to ensure seamless system integration and compatibility -Lead supplier engagement to transition designs from prototype through high-volume production, ensuring manufacturability and consistency -Ensure accurate application of GD&T and perform tolerance analyses using RSS methods -Contribute to and continuously improve Form Energy’s plastics design best practices while mentoring junior engineers

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience as a Plastics Engineer, with a proven track record of taking components from concept to high-volume production -Proficiency in CAD design; SolidWorks experience preferred -Demonstrated success guiding products through the full lifecycle with adaptability, sound judgment, and practical, hands-on problem-solving -Proven ability to optimize mechanical and system-level designs across complex, multidisciplinary architectures -Strong foundation in first-principles design and modeling, with demonstrated success optimizing for performance, cost, and manufacturability -Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments or with contract manufacturing partners
