  • Support and review project engineering scopes of work
  • Mentor junior engineering staff and perform technical reviews
  • Manage updates to asset data and submit monthly reports to client accounting teams

CARIAN is seeking a highly motivated Civil/Structural Engineer to support Outside Plant (OP) electric transmission projects supporting our clients in New Jersey. This hybrid role is based in South Plainfield, NJ, with travel to local project sites as needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Civil and/or Structural engineering and construction and will play a key role in ensuring project scopes, designs, and technical deliverables meet standards, budgets, and deadlines. This is a hands-on engineering position with direct impact on the success of capital infrastructure programs.

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation for field travel
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with Civil and/or Structural Infrastructure Projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and engineering documentation
  • Familiar with utility construction practices and engineering standards (ASME, NESC, ASCE)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or related field)
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Advanced technical degree or P.E. license
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of excavation, dewatering, soil thermal/electrical properties
  • Familiar with bottom-up engineering estimates
