Tasks

The Automation Engineer (NPI Projects) will provide technical support and project management for manufacturing operations and new product introductions (NPIs). This role will provide technical leadership and control of all automation and control system activities within the facility. -Project manage control system components of continuous improvement projects, collaborating with process engineers and other technical teams. -Comply with EHS policies and demonstrate best practices in all work activities. -Ensure personal safety and the safety of others, complying with safety notices and barriers. -Participate in EHS training and medical surveillance programs. -Report EHS incidents and near misses promptly. -Manage the lifecycle of onsite control systems in compliance with GAMP-5 standards. -Provide technical support for all control system-related issues, including troubleshooting, optimisation, and documentation control. -Define proposals for long-term control system maintenance and improvements. -Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. -Adhere to and promote all EHS policies, procedures, and standards. -Support future integration projects of control systems with MES and ERP platforms. -Lead control system qualification activities during project start-ups.

What You Bring

*Only candidates currently based in Ireland with a valid work visa or EU passport will be considered. -Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with PLC systems and SCADA/HMI applications (Allen Bradley & Siemens preferred). -Experience with 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 requirements for automated systems. -B.Sc or B.Eng Degree, or Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant technical discipline (Masters desirable). -Experience in plant start-ups and new product introductions in GMP facilities, with the ability to lead these activities. -Experience interfacing systems with plant historians using OPC interfaces. -PLC & HMI Experience (Allen Bradley & Siemens) -Understanding of 21 CFR Part 11 – electronic signatures, records, and traceability -Experience with local machine networks and network integration (Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, CANBus, Ethernet). -Knowledge of Windows operating system administration and server management. -Windows OS and servers -Automation System and Equipment Qualification – electrical/mechanical/mechatronics/automation -Life cycle management experience of control systems, including backup, recovery, user access controls, configuration management, and change management. -3+ years’ experience in process automation, including vendor packaged equipment in GMP environments.
