Overview
Provides on‑site and office construction support, inspections, and documentation for MDAD projects.

Tasks
-Operates relevant testing equipment as needed for the project. -Initiates field changes to drawings and specifications and identifies discrepancies or conflicts within the documents. -Performs or oversees on-site material testing. Reviews plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities). Responsible for the tracking of item quantities and preparing pay estimates and ensures that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. -Develops working relationships with agency staff and stakeholders. -Consults with Resident Engineer on work progress and construction problems, proactively recommends solutions, assists in the resolution of issues, and acts as a liaison with the engineer of record. -Responsible for maintaining as-constructed drawings and monitors contractors progress to analyze against progress schedule. -Identifies and resolves issues with basic change conditions with oversight from the project engineer. -Reviews contractor’s daily construction reports for accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency. -Mentors and trains staff. -Performs office management engineer work when needed including but not limited to; prepares documentation for change orders, reviews change order scope of work, schedule and cost, processes and maintains tracking logs for RFIs, submittals, pay estimates, and other deliverables. Assists in constructability reviews. -Inspects, monitors, and oversees construction field work tasks and activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans and specifications. Reads, interprets, and confirms compliance with applicable contract documents.

What You Bring
-Associates degree in relevant field and 6 years relevant experience, or -Understands Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills at an advanced level. -Understands document control for the project (i.e., materials documentation of RFI, contractor payment, contractor employment records) at an advanced level with oversight from more experienced staff. -Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field and 4 years relevant experience. -Trained in digital construction management software such as Constructware, Asite or similar preferred -Remains current and knowledgeable of industry technology and tools used to perform inspection work through industry resources, training, and research. Gains exposure to new technology and utilizes it (GPS/Rovers) to increase efficiency and accuracy of inspection tasks.
