Tasks

-Work with and be part of the estimating departments during project procurement phases. -Direct and coordinates activities of project personnel, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure project progresses safely, on schedule and within budget. -Work with project team on the project cost forecasting. -Climb ladders, work at heights, walk and stand on uneven surfaces, ride or work from a barge, pier, vessel, etc. -Change order recognition and management. -Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses safely, on schedule and within prescribed budget. -Lead and manage all on-site work planning activities. -Overall management and coordination of all construction activities on project site. Direct and coordinates activities of project personnel, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure project progresses safely, on schedule and within budget. -Responsible for overseeing the work of field engineers, project engineers, general foreman and junior superintendents. -Leads Ballard’s safety culture on all the projects. -Develop and maintain strong relationships with Ballard’s clients, internal and external. -Perform Quality Control duties as required. -Review and oversight of daily reporting requirements ensuring through, and quality reports are submitted.

What You Bring

-Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to control and supervise large teams -Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as in team environments, often under tight deadline situations, in a dynamic fast paced work environment -Education requirement can be waived with applicable experience in Heavy Civil Construction, in the superintendent role -Active listening skills -Effective written and verbal communication skills -Strong analytical and decision-making skills -Local travel required. Local travel is defined as any travel required to complete projects within the region where you are working. -Bachelor’s Degree Construction Management, Construction Engineering Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field experience -Proven ability to lead and mentor team members -Ability to remain outdoors for long periods of time in various seasons and conditions. -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer. -2+ years’ experience in heavy civil construction as a Project or General Superintendent -Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications -Valid drivers license -Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time. -Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environment -Ability to sit, stand, kneel, squat, push, pull, etc. for varying amounts of time.

Benefits

-$90K – $110K -Occasional National travel required, national trips will typically be for 2-5-day durations, occurring up to 6 times per year.
