Tasks

-Lead and oversee structural engineering efforts for complex vertical infrastructure projects, including barracks, hospitals, administrative buildings, and specialized federal facilities within the federal sector. -Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor on complex projects by applying advanced engineering concepts and developing innovative design solutions to address challenging structural problems. -Develop, review, and approve comprehensive construction documents, including plans, specifications, and calculations, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and project objectives. -Participate in client meetings, site visits, and project presentations, representing Olsson with professionalism and authoritative structural expertise. -Perform advanced structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems, ensuring rigorous compliance with UFC, IBC, ASCE, AISC, and other relevant federal and industry codes. -Lead and mentor junior engineers, reviewing their work to maintain quality, foster technical growth, and promote a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment. -Collaborate extensively with architects, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams, as well as federal clients and stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of structural systems and efficient project delivery. -Assist in developing and refining internal engineering standards and guidelines to continuously improve project outcomes and team performance. -Contribute to proposal development, scope definition, and federal RFP responses, playing a key role in expanding Olsson’s federal portfolio. -Participate in a wellness program promoting balanced lifestyles -Advance your career through leadership roles, technical training, and exposure to high-profile federal clients.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with DoD, VA, and federal design standards and processes. -PE or SE license (required). -Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, coordinate teams, and engage with clients. -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis. -8+ years of experience in structural design, ideally with federal clients or projects. -Proficiency in Autodesk, Revit, and similar analysis tools. -Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables is a plus.
