Fire Technical Trainer

Overview

Provide instructor-led and virtual training on water-based fire protection systems.

Tasks

-Deliver existing content -Coordinate training activities -Support LMS online training portal -Maintain existing technical learning content -Develop new content or update existing training programs -Develop job performance requirements (JPRs) -Support Technical Services and other cross-functional departments as needed -Operate audio/visual equipment -Assist with maintaining training program accreditations -Organize and maintain classrooms and equipment -Conduct and/or coordinate live virtual classes and webinars -Present water-based fire protection system training courses to live adult audiences -Develop new training aids -Evaluate attendees based on performance for the purpose of certification Job Field Operations

What You Bring

-Strong Presentation skills -Well-versed in MS Office 365, primarily PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint -Detail-oriented, particularly with respect to managing technical training programs -Understanding and application of the applicable NFPA standards in regard to water-based fire protection including NFPA 13, 14, 20, 25, 750 among others -Superior written and spoken English communication skills -5 years Fire Protection (sprinkler) industry experience -General awareness of the International Fire Code (IFC) and International Building Code (IBC) -Special hazards or fire detection systems experience a plus -Basic understanding of the NFPA standards process -Ability to work in fluid corporate environment -Sprinkler system design experience preferred -A minor portion (less than 10%) of the role may involve domestic or select global travel. -Strong, positive interpersonal skills -Fire sprinkler inspection/service department experience -Excellent listening skills -Solid business communication skills -A customer focused mindset
