Tasks
-Technical knowledge: prepare designs for DC and AC collection systems and power plant controllers. Projects will focus on design and analysis and will include preparing plans and specifications, writing reports, and developing cost estimations. The work will be related to renewable energy facilities. -Collaboration: build and sustain strong relationships with clients and internal teams. Collaborate across disciplines to align technical approaches with client goals while contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture. -Project management: proposal development including defining work scopes, deliverables, schedules, and budget. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects. Help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to team members and clients. -Staff development: support the growth and development of team members.

What You Bring
-Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future. -At least 5 years of related experience working in a design capacity on projects directly related to job responsibilities described above. -Experience with collection system studies, including ampacity, short circuit, reactive power, grounding, insulation coordination, harmonic, and transient overvoltage. -Experience with AutoCAD. -Driver’s license: Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. -Working knowledge of codes, standards, laws, and regulations applicable to the project assignments described above. -Authoritative capabilities and experience applying industry-standard resource modeling and assessment techniques (PVsyst, Windographer, etc.). -Experience with statistical analysis of solar and wind data, resource and net energy production forecasts (including uncertainty/variability analysis and loss assumptions), design, site conditions, and technology suitability. -Experience with power plant controllers. -Experience with energy storage facilities. -Knowledge and experience with solar DC and AC solar collection system design. -Experience with data collection, post-construction measurement campaigns (including power performance testing), and project contracts. -Work environment: ability to work in locations that feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites. Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients. Candidates must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation. -Travel expectation: up to 10–15 percent domestic fieldwork. -Education: bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. -10+ years of related experience. -Licenses/certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year.
