Overview

Perform skilled maintenance, grounds care, snow removal, and equipment repairs for state facilities.

Tasks

-follow written and oral instructions; -Stay connected! Log in daily to your JobAps Personal Status Board to track your status and check email (including spam/junk folders) for updates and tasks. -Performing ground care/landscape maintenance on grounds -Building and equipment maintenance (operational and remedial) including the operation of trucks of five (5) ton or greater capacity or complex motorized equipment; -The appointing authority may require completion of an asbestos removal program consistent with EPA guidelines for operations and maintenance during employment in this class. Incumbents may be required to use protective equipment such as respirators and safety goggles. -Assists Qualified Craft Workers or other higher level employees in the trades areas. -Cleaning facility grounds including snow and ice removal -Grounds care as a supervisor and/or specialized landscaping functions;

What You Bring

-Ability to -Considerable knowledge of methods, tools, equipment, materials and procedures of specific trade or work area concerned; -Knowledge of maintenance problems and their proper handling; -Experience working in facilities occupied by persons with intellectual disabilities. -Ability to respond to emergency needs and provide snow removal duties as required. -Experience preparing documentation to comply with standard of DPH, OSFM and licensing. -Experience performing maintenance and repairs in large facilities and residential buildings. -Experience conducting life safety inspections. -Referral Questions: This posting may require completion of additional Referral Questions (RQs), which must be completed by the questionnaire’s expiration date. If requested, RQs can be accessed via an email sent to you after the job close date or by visiting your JobAps Personal Status Board (Certification Questionnaires section). -utilize computer software. -Incumbents in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility and visual and auditory acuity, and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties. -manual and machine operations of trade or work area skills; -A physical examination may be required. -Incumbents in this class may be required to lift moderate to heavy weights and may be exposed to significant levels of dust, heat, noise, extreme weather conditions and risk of injury from equipment and assaultive and/or abusive individuals. -interpersonal skills; -Operation of motor trucks or large buses. -oral and written communication skills; -Experience performing routine maintenance inspections. -Considerable knowledge of one or more building trades. -Ability to utilize computer software programs and work order systems.
