Tasks

A Solar O&M Engineer ensures the long-term performance and reliability of solar power plants. After commissioning, O&M engineers are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of system components such as inverters, transformers, and PV modules. Their main goal is to maximize plant uptime and generation efficiency while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs. -Carry out thermography inspections to detect hotspots and potential failures. -Supervise cleaning, vegetation control, and safety inspections at the site. -Provide performance improvement suggestions based on data trends. -Maintain detailed reports on generation, downtime, and efficiency losses. -Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of modules, inverters, and cables. -Monitor plant performance through SCADA systems and analyze generation data. -Ensure compliance with grid regulations and safety standards. -Coordinate with equipment vendors for warranty claims and replacements. -Diagnose faults and ensure timely corrective actions to minimize losses.

What You Bring

-2–5 years of experience in solar O&M or plant maintenance. -Solar O&M Engineers can grow to become Site In-charge, O&M Manager, or Performance Head. With India’s solar capacity expanding rapidly, skilled O&M professionals are among the most sought-after experts in the renewable sector. -Knowledge of electrical testing (IV curve tracing, insulation resistance, earthing). -Troubleshooting skills for string-level and inverter-level faults. -Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. -Understanding of LV/MV switchgear, safety norms, and protection systems. -Strong communication and reporting skills. -Hands-on knowledge of field operations, preferably in utility-scale solar plants. -Proficiency in SCADA monitoring and data analytics tools.
