Senior inspector oversees highway construction, inspects materials, ensures compliance.

Tasks

-Reviews material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measures quantities of materials placed. -Monitoring on-site construction activities. -Inspecting materials in accordance with the client's scope of services (plans, specifications, and special provisions). Transporting samples to be tested in a Department laboratory or appropriate facility. -Performs inspection of the contractor’s quality control procedures. -Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control (in accordance with the client's requirements). -May be required to perform sampling and/or in‐place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement. -Concrete Field Inspection -Maintaining detailed accurate records of daily operations and significant events. Fulfilling other duties as needed. -Performs material testing and verifies that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures. -Preparing daily inspection reports.

-ACI Certification -Aggregate Production Certification -Valid State’s driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check. -High school diploma or general education degree (GED). -Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of DOT or Municipality CEI Inspection Services. -Bituminous Street Certification
