Tasks
-Be in charge of the Compliance Analysis in accordance with the regulations that control hazardous substances in electrical/electronic equipment and lifecycle assessment -Develop innovative methodologies to be applied as standards in the design process of products and solutions -Lead a small team of local junior Product Compliance Engineers -Prepare dossiers relating to the regulation for the control of exports, brokering, technical assistance, transit and transfer of dual-use items (EU and US Regulations) -Prepare the dossiers related to fire smoke regulations NFPA 130

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Product Compliance Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA. In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions. English proficiency. Knowledge of a foreign language is welcome. -At least 5 years of experience in a product compliance related role -Previous experience working as a team lead. Must have the ability to lead local junior Product Compliance Engineers. -Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering (preferable), Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent technical/scientific background -Willing to work in an international team and environment -Experience with and an understanding of information related to electrical/electronic/mechanical components -Able to work autonomously and be proactive in the management of tasks -Good knowledge about Life Cycle Assessment Methodologies -Excellent communication skills -Knowledge of NFPA 130 - Standard for fire protection for Rolling Stock
