Tasks

-Preparing and managing work programmes to deliver to deadlines -Managing the planning, design and implementation of highway projects Demonstrating leadership and ensuring adherence to H&S policy and procedures -Controlling project resources and monitoring against budget -Leading a portfolio of projects, ensuring delivery to client requirements, programme and budget -Delivering bid proposals and submissions -Mentoring and developing junior staff -Developing and maintaining excellent client relationships

What You Bring

-Able to communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues, fellow professionals and clients at all levels (written and verbal) -Experience in the use of BIM to coordinate design inputs -Chartered (or Incorporated) Engineer with a proven record of technical leadership on highway and infrastructure projects -Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline, or extensive equivalent experience -Experienced in managing multi-disciplinary design projects, including planning and controlling programmes, budgets, and resources -Experience in preparing fee proposals, contributing to business development, and building client relationships, including with local authorities and government clients. -Strong understanding of highway design standards (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) / Specification for Highways Works (SHW)/ Manual for Streets) and experienced with using design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads and InfoDrainage -Prepared to work away from home when required -Knowledge of highway design principles and understanding design standards such as DMRB, SHW and Manual for Streets -Have capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required Possess experience of preparing engineering design calculations, detailed construction drawings and standard details and technical specifications
