Overview

Field Technician performs on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of heavy equipment.

Tasks

-Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use -Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization -Produce timely and detailed service reports -Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks -Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations -Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections -Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assigned -Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches -Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions -Tie workflow to schedule -Participate in all training programs directed by Service Manager -Build positive relationships with customers -Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top quality equipment is always available and customer expectation is exceeded -Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols -Completes basic computer tasks including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via email -Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings -Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition on the job site or in the shop -Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems

What You Bring

-Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment -Exhibit strong teamwork -Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record -Proven field service experience -Must have own tools -Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment -May work in extreme conditions on job sites Travel Required -Ability to work flexible shifts -Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites
