Tasks

A Data Center Technician is responsible for physical installation, maintenance, and support of servers and network infrastructure. This role focuses on hardware racking, structured cable management, inventory control, and coordination of shipping and receiving processes. -Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation. -Perform inventory audits, update asset management systems, and reconcile discrepancies. -Execute high-precision cable management for copper and fiber assemblies. -Collaborate with operations, security, and facilities teams for smooth workflow. -Troubleshoot basic hardware and cabling issues and escalate complex problems.

What You Bring

-Understanding of ESD precautions, safety practices, and PPE requirements. -High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (A+, BICSI Installer I) preferred. -Familiarity with warehouse logistics, shipping protocols, and inventory software. -Proven ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work at heights safely. -Minimum of one-year hands-on experience in a data center or similar IT environment. -Experience with asset management tools and barcode scanners. -Proficiency with cable testers, crimpers, and rack installation tools. -Structured cabling standards for Cat6/Cat6a, single-mode and multi-mode fiber. -Basic knowledge of server hardware (RAID configurations, rack PDUs). -Comfortable working in variable temperature environments and on shift rotations.
