The Role

Overview

Collect and test wastewater samples, ensure compliance, and report to regulators.

Tasks

-Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and necessary corrective actions. -Support operations working with pre-treatment and industrial discharges to ensure compliance with the permits. -Conduct regular inspections of wastewater treatment facilities. -Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of testing instruments. -Prepare, review, and submit required reports to regulatory agencies. -Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. -Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment used in testing procedures. -Participate in emergency response activities related to wastewater incidents. -Regularly report to and communicate with the supervisor regarding compliance activities. -Collect and test wastewater samples for various analytes as required by permits. -Serve as liaison with contracted laboratories. -Assist in the development and implementation of wastewater control plans.

What You Bring

-Grade 3 wastewater Operator license (preferred). -Must possess a valid Arizona Class D driver’s license -Must communicate with co-workers and display a positive attitude. -High school diploma, plus two years of experience in wastewater sampling or the engineering field, or a suitable equivalent. -Must have general knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations dealing with wastewater permits.
