Lead safety trainer oversees safety training, behind-the-wheel instruction, and compliance.

Tasks

-Lead and direct the safety and training classes for new hires for fixed route service. -Assists training department in identifying additional or refresher training needs based on current trends within the employee base. -Recognizes and reports safe and unsafe acts conditions to management. -Assist in planning and facilitating Safety Meetings -Evaluates new operator driving skills using appropriate checklists and evaluation forms. -Make sure that the proper filing for all files is current and up to date. -Provides behind-the-wheel refresher training as directed. -Provides behind-the-wheel training for new operators and trainees as needed. -Submit accident documentation to appropriate parties for claim processing. -Perform DOT mandatory Drug and Alcohol testing. -Provide coaching to operators with unsafe driving behavior. -Performs ride checks and road observations as requested. -Assist the Safety Manager in providing overall leadership and direction on safety, while ensuring an exceptional safety culture within KTA location. -Provides feedback to Safety Manager, GM, Operations Manager, and other appropriate staff regarding training needs.

What You Bring

-Excellent customer service record, with no customer complaints in the previous twelve (12) months. -Must have and maintain qualifications to operate all equipment utilized within the location. -Must be able to respond to emails and conduct individual meetings as needed. -Must hold Keolis Behind-the-Wheel Trainer Certification or acquire during the first 60 days. -Must successfully pass the background screening process including an MVR check. -Must have a minimum of one (1) year of safety/training experience. -Must have and maintain all required licenses and certifications. -Be able to retain OSHA certification and help implement OSHA standards on site.
