Tasks

Senior Structural Engineers make up the body of the engineering department and are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day developments of the design through the design process. The Senior Structural Engineer also has a shared managerial responsibility in respect of Graduates, Apprentices and/or Designers in the team as and when required to do so. The Senior Structural Engineer is fundamentally a hands-on analysis and design-based role within the Civil & Structural department that generally includes interfacing with other engineering disciplines in the project design team. -Preparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures -Development of designs to satisfy technical specifications -Prepare supporting design calculations to substantiate design -In partnership with trade unions -Preparation of design documentation throughout the design process -Preparation of technical specifications

What You Bring

To be considered for the Senior Structural Engineer position the applicant must be delivering functions above that of a Design Engineer. -A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays overs occasionally -Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position -Knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel. -A recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree -Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel. -Knowledge and understanding of Structural steel connections and connection types. -Nuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry, -Experience of supervision. -Ability to work to tight deadlines,
