The Role

Overview

Assist Chief Engineer in overseeing hotel maintenance, budgeting, and team leadership.

Tasks

-Coach, train, and support the team to provide consistently high standards while continually seeking improvement. -Oversee hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion within budget. -Address guest concerns promptly, attentively and efficiently. -Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and supporting “green” initiatives. -Manage the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses, forecasting future needs, and optimising resource allocation. -Coordinate the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services. -Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations. -Lead and manage the maintenance team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations. -Collaborate with other departments to support the overall operation of the hotel and address maintenance-related issues.

What You Bring

-A smart and professional appearance. -Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. -Proven experience in managing, coaching, challenging and developing teams. -Ability to use initiative in challenging situations and under pressure. -Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices. -Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing a team. -Excellent standard of English, both written and spoken. -Full understanding of financial aspects, budgeting and profit and loss. -Proven track record in a similar position within a 5-star hotel. -Previous experience using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications. -Recognised electrical or engineering qualification and specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Pool plant operator qualification preferred.
