Design Engineer

Overview

Design and analyze structural systems for diverse projects in Orlando or Sarasota.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Attends client, architect, and contractor meetings. -Interacts with higher level engineers and design technicians. -Develops drawings and specifications for use during construction and confirms compliance with applicable codes and regulations. -Creates and reviews drawings, submittals, and structural documents. -Shares information across all disciplines to confirm deliverables are compliant with client expectations and established quality standards. -Performs analysis of existing structures. -Performs calculations per design specifications and industry standards.

What You Bring

-Strong communication skills are required. -Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with 3-8 years of related experience or Master’s in Civil Engineering. -Utilizes Structural Design Software, such as TEKLA Structural Designer, RAM Structural Systems, ETBAS, SAFE, SAP, RAM Elements, and RISA. -Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and as part of a team. -Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. A willingness to take on additional responsibilities presented. -Learns to engage with potential clients to expand business relationships. -BIM training or experience a plus. -EIT preferred.
